Lerici is situated in one of the most beautiful bays of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante and is rich in historical and artistic evidence. Destination in all times of poets and artists of great fame such as Byron, Shelley, Lawrence, Virgina Woolf, it has been called 'The Gulf of Poets' and with this appellation it is known all over the world. Lerici, enclosed between two castles, is also surrounded by picturesque hilltop villages connected by scenic paths, hidden bays opening into the cliffs, such as Fiascherino and Tellaro.

Portovenere has ancient origins. It is world-famous for its historical monuments, the Doria Castle, the Church of San Lorenzo and the Church of San Pietro overlooking the sea, the magical village with its multicoloured houses and intricate carugi (narrow streets), in which one can totally immerse oneself walking along the streets.

With its splendid view of the Gulf, it has been the destination of many artists and poets, one of whom was George Byron, who gave his name to the famous grotto. Portovenere, Palmaria, Tino, and Tinetto are part of the Portovenere Regional Natural Park and together with the Cinque Terre have been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1997.

The spectacular landscapes and the folklore of the maritime tradition have made the Cinque Terre a splendid tourist destination that attracts tourists from all over the world every year. Thanks to their geographical characteristics, the Cinque Terre are considered one of Italy's most attractive coastlines, due to their rugged and rough terrain, softened by the construction of terraces or belts for cultivation, which descend steeply towards the sea. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso are precious pearls of the Riviera di Levante, a National Park, Protected Marine Area, Cetacean Sanctuary and have been a priceless UNESCO heritage site since 1997.
